Fast Coaster Ride Photography System (Nova system)
Our latest system camera channel uses a 1.2Gbit/sec fibre optic link to deliver optimum images to a sales unit that can be as far as half a kilometre away. This means we can always get the best shot – and deliver on ride photos quickly.
No motion blur
The Nova system is based around a series of shutterless digital cameras that can capture 16 Megapixel resolutions at between 4 and 30 frames per second - fast enough to obtain pin sharp pictures on rides moving up to 112km/h. Each camera operates through a Timing Control Unit that ensures we capture every row of seats, accurately timed to the millisecond. With the ability to use "shutter speeds" of up to 1/10,000th sec there is no motion blur and every photo has the rider in the same position time after time.
New generation ride photography
To make the Nova system truly effective a new generation of high repetition rate flash system has been developed. This delivers flash pulses at a rate completely compatible with the camera's frame rate, in a pulse that is also 1/10,000th sec and at a power of 300 Joules, this vastly exceeds any production flash system on the open market. In practice, come rain or shine with the weather, the rider is effectively illuminated for every shot, even when the camera and flash have to be positioned substantial distances from the ride. The millisecond accurate camera triggers results of perfectly framed shots for every single seat on even the fastest roller coasters in the world so your customers can enjoy brilliant photographs time after time.
Single Shot Ride Photography System
As well as our multi-unit Nova system, we have developed our Single Shot system to use the inherent quality of the Nikon Professional Digital SLR range. This enables us to take pictures up to a resolution of 10.2 Megapixel and yet incorporates the full suite of camera control features developed for the Nova system and its predecessors.
The best shot time after time
Housed in neat and unobtrusive waterproof housings and teamed with reliable studio monoblock flash units this system produces high impact pictures again and again. Light weight and compact enough to be mounted in nearly any situation we can get the perfect action shot indoors or out. Furthermore, the images are constantly analysed to cope with varying light conditions and the results are fed back into the camera control functions to improve subsequent shots. Even though we think of the system as a single shot, we have systems operating with up to 96 cameras!
